We have a vacancy for a permanent 100% position as an operations operator in Nordre Land municipality.
The position involves the operation and maintenance of current and future wastewater treatment plants within the self-cost areas Dokka, Torpa and Synnfjell. Furthermore, the position is added to participate in the guard scheme for water and wastewater at Technical Operations.
The purpose of the position is to ensure stable, efficient and regulatory operation of the municipality's wastewater treatment plants, so that discharges to nature and recipients take place in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and environmental requirements, as well as to contribute to good public health and sustainable management of the aquatic environment.
Tasks
- Daily operation and monitoring of wastewater treatment plants.
- Control of processes such as mechanical, biological and possibly chemical treatment.
- Sampling and simpler laboratory work (water samples, sludge samples, reading of analyzes).
- Follow-up of operating parameters and adjustment of process for optimal treatment effect.
- Use of operational control systems (SD systems).
Maintenance and technical work:
- Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on pumps, valves, pipes, blowers and other equipment.
- Detection and rectification of operational deviations.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of repairs and upgrades.
- Collaboration with external suppliers and contractors.
Documentation and reporting:
- Registration and documentation of operational data.
- Contribute to reporting to authorities (e.g. the State Administrator).
- Follow-up of discharge permits, internal control and HSE routines.
- Accident reporting and improvement work.
Environment, HSE and emergency preparedness:
- Ensure that operations take place in accordance with laws, regulations and environmental requirements.
- Focus on health, safety and the environment (HSE).
- May be relevant with participation in emergency preparedness and security arrangements.
- Contribute to good order, safety and tidiness at the plant.
Qualifications
- Professional certificate as chemical process operator, process operator.
- Professional certificate in water and sewage, plumbing, industrial mechanics, electrical, automation or equivalent technical subjects.
- Personal qualities and relevant experience can compensate for parts of the formal competence requirements.
- Practical experience with daily operation, monitoring and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants.
- Knowledge of mechanical, biological and/or chemical treatment processes.
- Experience with process adjustment and handling of operational deviations.
- Relevant experience can also be from the process industry, waterworks and/or other major technical facilities and installations.
- Driver's license class BE.
- Driver's license class T with 50 km/h.
- Desirable with machine operator certificate on excavator and wheel loader.
