Type of Employment Full-time

Application due date 1 November 2026
Are you the one?

Norsk Tipping’s app is designed to work just as well for the most tech-savvy users as it does for people who rarely use other apps. That sets high standards. Everything must be intuitive, accessible, fast, and extremely robust—in a heavily regulated industry where even small technical decisions can have major consequences.

At Norsk Tipping, we develop for all major platforms—web, iOS, and Android—and we have a common design system that ties everything together. Beyond that, we have many product areas that need to be able to develop quickly without fragmenting the customer experience. The truly interesting challenge lies here: how do we create shared principles, architecture, and components that give teams freedom without the platform becoming a bottleneck?

This isn’t a role where you simply implement pre-built features. You’ll help shape how the frontend is built and functions across the entire Norsk Tipping organization. You’ll solve problems involving both technical and organizational complexity, and you’ll help make decisions that impact nearly all of Norway.

The Product Area and Solutions

The “Holistic Experience and Frontend” product area is responsible for ensuring a robust technical platform for both the web and the app, and for making sure that the digital customer journeys at Norsk Tipping feel seamless and cohesive. The team sets the direction for navigation and design across apps and the web, and manages a common design system so that components and patterns are consistent no matter where you are within Norsk Tipping’s solutions.

The team is multidisciplinary, comprising a product development lead, a systems architect, CX specialists, UX designers, front-end and back-end developers, native developers for iOS and Android, and testers. The team also serves as a sounding board for other teams when challenges and opportunities span multiple product areas.

What We’re Working On Now

We’re constantly searching for the right balance: enough oversight to ensure a cohesive customer experience, and enough freedom for the product areas to develop quickly on their own. This balance isn’t set in stone. It’s still taking shape, together with the teams. This gives you the opportunity to influence what the front-end architecture will look like in the future.

We also have broad responsibility for ensuring that Norsk Tipping’s web and app solutions comply with universal design requirements. This is a field in which we want to improve even further, and we highly value expertise in or an interest in universal design in the person who will take on this role.

What You’ll Be Working On

Among other things, you will:

  • further develop and shape the overall front-end architecture for the web, in collaboration with the iOS and Android platforms
  • set the direction for how we build components and patterns within the shared design system
  • solve problems that are as much organizational as they are technical, and serve as a sounding board for other teams when they face challenges that span product areas
  • help ensure that digital customer journeys feel seamless and cohesive
  • participate in making technical decisions that impact nearly all of Norsk Tipping’s digital platform
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with solid experience as a front-end developer—preferably with React—who is eager to build platforms. The primary focus of the role is on the web, but if you have an interest in and understanding of iOS or Android, that would be a plus.

You thrive when you have the freedom to influence the direction of the work and enjoy managing much of your own workday. You’re comfortable with the fact that the challenges here are as much organizational as they are technical, and you’re eager to build something used by nearly all of Norway.

AI in Practice

We’re actively exploring how AI tools can be used in our development work and aim to be at the forefront of implementing them sensibly within our team. As a senior front-end developer, you’ll help explore how AI can make us faster and better—whether in the coding itself, in testing and quality assurance, or in the further development of our design system. This is still a field in development, and it gives you a real opportunity to shape both tool selection and best practices.

Where you’ll start and how you can grow

You’ll be hired as a senior developer at Norsk Tipping and will initially work in the “Helhet” and front-end product areas. At the same time, we operate in a product-oriented organization where expertise and needs evolve over time. This means that, in the long run, you may have opportunities to contribute to other parts of the Technology Department, depending on both your interests and the company’s needs.

Finally

Good front-end work is rarely noticed directly. It’s all the technical choices no one thinks about, because everything just fits together. That’s the job we’re offering you.

Are you the kind of person who prefers to take ownership of these kinds of problems, rather than just solving individual tasks within them?
