Norsk Tipping is one of Norway's leading technology companies and the largest provider of gambling in Norway. Over 90% of its revenue comes through digital channels. The market is governed by the Gambling Act and regulated by the Norwegian Gaming Authority.

Norsk Tipping offers gambling in the categories of lotteries, instant games, sports and casino. Work is underway to be able to offer online poker, as well as for the possible transfer of horse betting from Norsk Rikstoto to Norsk Tipping.

Through 2025, several integrity errors have been uncovered in Norsk Tipping and the company is in the midst of extensive work to raise the quality of internal processes, systems and culture. The journey the company is on is both rewarding, exciting and challenging.

This makes this position one of the most exciting Chief Technology Officer positions in Norway.

Norsk Tipping is headquartered in Hamar, where the vast majority of the company's 416 employees are based daily.

About the position

As Chief Technology Officer, you are responsible for operating, managing and further developing Norsk Tipping's technological solutions, and for leading one of the company's two largest departments - around 160 technologists divided between operations and development.

You set the level of ambition and direction for the technological path ahead, in a company where the balance between accountability, control and customer experience is crucial. You do this in close collaboration with the rest of the company. The technology department also works closely with the Customer Meeting department and other departments, through an interdisciplinary, product-oriented organization.

The role is part of the senior management team and reports to the CEO.

Main responsibilities

  • Set the direction and level of ambition for Norsk Tipping's technological development
  • Lead a total technology department of around 160 employees, with a focus on agility and interaction between operations and development and the rest of the organization.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, security and a modern, cost-effective infrastructure
  • Ensure that services are delivered with quality and in line with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure holistic, product-oriented delivery through close and structured collaboration with all departments
  • Active contributor in the company's senior management team

Who are you?

You have a higher education in technology, preferably combined with management, and at least ten years of work experience - much of it as a manager. You're likely to have come from a level 2 role in a company of some complexity: transactional, regulated, or both. You've been involved in cloud, hybrid and on prem assessments.

Equally important is who you are as a leader. You are steadfast in the choices you make, setting direction and making decisions even when the foundation is incomplete. You manage conflicting interests and organizational changes without losing your people, and you are motivated by further development. You have technological expertise and an understanding of both operations and development. You are an experienced and confident leader.

Practical information

The place of work is Hamar. The position involves some travel, with meetings preferably in Oslo.

Norsk Tipping wants diversity in the organization and encourages all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnic background, sexual orientation or beliefs.
