At Spille Sammen, we’re building Norsk Tipping’s solution for playing games with others—in a safe, social, and legal way. We’ve launched Spillelag, and we’re now working to make it easier, more fun, and more engaging to share the gaming experience with friends, family, and colleagues.
We are now looking for a senior backend developer who wants to help further develop Spillelag and explore new social gaming experiences with us.
About the Product Area
Spille Sammen is Norsk Tipping’s product area for social gaming experiences. We have built Spillelag, the service that makes it possible to play together with others within the framework of the law. Section 4 of the Gambling Regulations requires that everyone who plays together register their share under their own customer account, and Spillelag was created to meet this legal requirement.
But the job isn’t done just because the solution exists. Many people still organize gaming groups privately, and if we are to succeed—both in fulfilling the intent of the law and realizing the strategic potential—Spillelag must be perceived as a better and more attractive alternative than doing it on one’s own.
Spillelag is a modern solution built on Kotlin, REST, and Kafka, with workflows based on the Saga pattern. Parts of the solution run on AWS, where we use DynamoDB, among other things, to implement a chat solution for members of the betting pool. The solution handles high volumes. A large number of customers and heavy system load place high demands on stability and performance.
Spillelag is still in the early stages of its lifecycle. Therefore, our main focus over the next few years will be on exploration, learning, and further development—not just operations.

If we succeed, we’ll help strengthen and revitalize Norsk Tipping’s product portfolio. We’ll also help ensure that team-based gaming takes place within a safe and responsible framework, rather than privately and unregulated.
What You’ll Be Working On
As a senior backend developer, you’ll be a key part of the team building and further developing Spillelag, and exploring new social features for our games.
- further develop Spillelag—from architecture to code
- help explore new social gaming experiences, such as playing with and against friends
- make active technical decisions and help set the direction for how we build our solutions
- work closely with the product development lead, UX, business, data, and analytics teams throughout the entire value chain
- collaborate across multiple other product development areas at Norsk Tipping
- contribute to learning and development within the team
The Team and How We Work
You’ll be part of a cross-functional product team of 11 people, including a product development manager, backend and web developers, Android and iOS developers, UX designers, a CX consultant, business consultants, and testers—as well as an associated analyst and data scientist. Together, we’re responsible for the entire value chain, from ideas and insights to what’s actually launched and used by our customers.
We work in an agile manner, with a high degree of autonomy within the framework provided by our product development model. We also collaborate extensively with other product areas, since what we build both influences and depends on what they do.
We actively use AI in our development work. It’s a natural part of how we work. We’re looking for a colleague who has experience using AI tools in development today and who is curious about how we can become even better and faster in the future.

You’ll be hired as a senior developer at Norsk Tipping and will initially work in the “Spille Sammen” product development area. At the same time, we operate in a product-oriented organization where expertise and needs evolve over time.
