We are looking for a driven Construction Manager focusing on Instrumentation & Controls to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Cathode Active Material team based in Skellefteå. By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up our Cathode Active Material department and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job:
The Construction Manager leads a team to supervise the construction activities assigned
to third party contractors, and ensures compliance with schedule, costs, quality, health, safety and environmental protection requirements. Specifically for Process Instrumentation & Controls, the Senior Construction Engineer shall have solid background in installation and pre-commissioning of instrumentation and cabling for plant monitoring and process control systems as well as data & fiber networking. The Construction Manager shall oversee the installation and pre-commissioning of these systems for the production of Cathode Active Materials, Waste Water Treatment and utilities distribution. Relevant experience in DCS Architecture and components, System Configuration & Programming, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) is needed

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Attending the tests, controls and inspections carried out by Contractor and it sub-contractors, checking conformity required by Northvolt specifications, European Norms & Directives and National Standards (including ATEX where applicable)
  • Ensuring the orderly collection and management of written records of inspections, controls and test results by Main Contractor for the purpose of approvals of mechanically completed plant systems
  • Participating in determining corrective actions and then ensuring correct implementation of the activities for resolving cases of nonconformity;
  • Facilitate the handover of completed systems to the Northvolt Commissioning and/or
    Facilities teams.
  • Ensuring, with the support of the Northvolt HSE Team the field control of HSE aspects, also with reference to activities developed by Contractors/Suppliers
