Northvolt Materials business unit is right now looking for a lead engineer that will secure out process automation strategy and implementation. You will learn and understand what our internal and external needs are to make sure we have the best automation solution for our operations. You will be given the opportunity to lay out the strategy with a tight connection to our operators and internal requirements. We also see that you are a vital part in the process automation design and taking the role as our stakeholder in the development of our solution.

Process automation is a vital part of making the world’s greenest battery and it is important that you take an active role in fitting this part into the big picture for battery recycling as well as active materials development. For example, we are building one of the first European large-scale lithium-ion battery recycling plant together with Northolt’s active material production plant.

The daily work within this role includes setting the roadmap for our upcoming plants with regards to process automation in balance with implementing the process automation systems for our existing plants. The work also entitles interaction with our suppliers for automation as well as tight collaboration with our process engineering team.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading process automation strategy and implementation
  • Capturing the needs from the process engineering team as well as our operations
  • Supplier and stakeholder management
  • Being the focal point in the development process automation.
  • Lead R&D activities for piloting of new technologies and their suitability to production environments
  • Cost estimations for projects and change requests. Provide input for quoting and planning works

In general you have a long experience in the field and have been part in driving large, innovative and challenging process automation projects with high demands on industrialisation and scaling.
