We are looking for an experienced Manager Mother plant to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our passionate OPEX team based in Skelleftep. By joining us, you will be a key player in ramping up out network of factories and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the job

This role offers a unique opportunity to establish and oversee a novel organizational function, the 'Mother Plant,' serving as a pivotal interface between Northvolt Ett (our first Gigafactory), forthcoming factories, and the factory design units. A critical strategic driver for scaling the world's greenest battery across multiple facilities is the development of a comprehensive factory Blueprint, which is continuously improved based on operational insights. Your main objective will involve channeling operational learnings, use cases and requirements into the Blueprint team and associated design functions

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the scope and processes of the Mother Plant in collaboration with key stakeholders from operations (Operational Excellence, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, etc.) and design teams (Factory Design and Expansion).
  • Facilitate operational target setting and operational module updates in collaboration with the Industrial engineers, including targets on Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), head count targets per process station, ramp-up curves, etc.
  • Gather operational requirements for new factories from the operations teams, including floorspace need per functions, people flow, commissioning requirements, etc.
  • Act as the representative for Ett operations in discussion on new design solution addressing the operational requirements
  • Manage design review process and approve new design solutions to ensure alignment with operational needs
  • Feed lessons learned across operational targets and operational requirements to the upcoming factories
  • Ensure the right functions and expertise is provided as part of input to the blueprint and construction team at the right time
  • Together with the Director of Operational Excellence (your manager), and the rest of the management team of Operational excellence, develop the strategy and targets for the team
