Maintenance Reliability Manager

Are you ready for a leadership role where you can directly impact plant performance and long-term reliability? We are looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Reliability Manager to join our Maintenance Technical Service organization at our site in Nynäshamn.

About the role

As the Maintenance Reliability Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers across five key technical areas: reliability, instrumentation & automation, electrical, mechanical rotating and static equipment. Your mission is to deliver on the refinery’s reliability and maintenance goals. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Reliability Group. You will ensure the development of engineering expertise, deliver high-quality technical support to operations and maintenance, and uphold best practices for asset lifecycle management.

You are part of the Maintenance Technical Services (MTS) organisation and report directly to the MTS Manager. You will be a key contributor to the Maintenance management team and play a central role in developing and standardising processes across Nynas' operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a cross-functional team of engineers and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Drive site-wide reliability strategy and ensure long-term asset health.
  • Support major maintenance events, implement criticality classifications, develop asset tactics, and manage the plant’s “bad actor” equipment list.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance strategies, criticality analyses and root cause investigations.
  • Ensure robust preventive and predictive maintenance plans are in place and continuously improved
  • Align reliability engineering practices with production goals and safety standards, ensuring consistency with Nynas Technical Standards and Management Systems.
  • Contribute to Nynas’ future sustainability goals by improving equipment efficiency, reducing failures, and supporting long-term plant performance.
  • Develop installation and maintenance standards in coordination with Nynas Engineering.

About you

You are a structured and service-oriented leader with a strong technical background. You have the communication skills and confidence to collaborate across departments, motivate your team, and drive results. You also bring a forward-thinking approach to innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrument Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering or maintenance in a process or production industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and managing engineering budgets and maintenance strategies.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and reliability tools.
  • You are fluent in English; knowledge of Swedish is highly desirable or you show a strong willingness to learn.

In return we offer a challenging and key leadership role at the heart of our refinery’s performance. You will be part of a professional and collaborative Maintenance Technical Services team, working to shape the future of reliability at Nynas. You will have the ability to make a real impact on asset performance and long-term plant reliability.
