About the position

As an Electrical Engineer with electrical operation responsibility at Vakin, you have the overall responsibility for ensuring that our electrical installations meet the requirements of the electricity legislation and applicable standards. You play a central role in developing and managing our work in electrical engineering, focusing on electrical safety, feasibility studies and investment planning as well as technical documentation.

The position belongs to the Technology - Planning and Investigations department, which is the part of the organization that plans long-term investments and reinvestments of our facilities. The responsibility also lies in working daily with various technical instructions to ensure that Vakin has the right facilities based on the conditions.



You will, among other things:



  • Be responsible for electrical operations at Vakin and drive the work of ensuring that our electrical facilities and routines meet current legal requirements and standards, such as the Electrical Safety Act, the Electrical Safety Ordinance, the Electricity Act and SS-EN 50110-1.
  • Develop and maintain the company-wide technical standard in electricity, which includes developing and following up instructions for electrical documentation, drawing standards and templates.
  • Develop and manage labeling, symbol library and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with operational technicians, project managers, technical specialists and external consultants and act as an expert in specific electrical issues internally.
  • Identify and prioritize action and investment items at the electrical facilities to fill the long-term investment plan with named projects that are possible to implement within given budget frames.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for electrical-related maintenance and investment projects.

The position is located in Umeå and you report to the Group Manager for Technology - Planning & Investigation.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for you who have an electrical engineering education at YH or college level, as well as several years of experience working with electrical installations - preferably in industry, real estate or water and sewage operations. You have good knowledge of electrical legislation and electrical safety regulations as well as system understanding in electricity distribution, UPS, switchgear and backup power.

You have the ability to structure, document and follow up technical solutions and standards. We would like to see that you are responsible, careful and safety-conscious - at the same time as you are communicative and thrive in an advisory role.



You have:



  • Electrical engineering education
  • Good experience in the electrical field
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel
  • B-driving license

It is meritorious if you have:



  • Experience from VA
  • Authorization according to the Electrical Safety Authority (for example AL or A).
  • Experience with operational support systems, ERP systems and technical documentation.
  • Experience in automation
  • Worked with systems from Siemens, ABB or Schneider.
