Being a social manager in our municipality is both an exciting and demanding job that you will be part of and where you help shape our current and future society.
In a reasonably large municipality like Gällivare, there are many areas of cooperation both within the municipal operations and with other actors. In many important issues, the municipalities in Norrbotten cooperate.
Your assignment
The social manager is part of the municipality's management team, which consists of the municipal director and other heads of administration. The Head of Social Services has the main responsibility for leading and developing the social services administration together with and through his/her management team, which consists of three heads of department and two operational managers. A major challenge is to create the conditions for efficient operations, manage the supply of skills, continue to develop the organization and ensure a good working environment.
Qualifications
You have several years of experience as a leader, preferably in times of change. Good experience of strategic work in politically controlled activities, very good knowledge of social services legislation and field of activity, and experience of operational and quality development. Relevant academic education is a requirement.
It is also important that you have the skills to create the conditions for a good working environment and that you have a well-developed security mindset and understand the importance of integrity and confidentiality in the assignment.
As a person, you have very good cooperation and communication skills, are transparent, clear, unpretentious and goal-oriented and can make decisions and ensure implementation.You have a very good ability to build trust with citizens and employees and a good ability to interact with political leadership and trade unions. Media experience and experience of representing the employer externally is a plus.
You have an engaging and inspiring way of leading that takes advantage of and develops the skills of the staff where all employees in the organization can develop their full potential.
