Place of work:

The position is part of the municipal area Health and coping. The municipal area's goals and strategies are anchored in the document "New Welfare 2040", and focus on coping, independence, belonging and participation.

The service area facilitated services is one of 5 service areas in Health and Coping. Facilitated services consist of 5 departments. Assistance is provided to people living at home with special needs for adaptation. Targeted efforts are made to ensure that those in need of services master their everyday lives and achieve a meaningful existence. The services are provided as health care in the home, practical assistance and training/guidance. It is provided both in 24-hour continuous measures and in punctual services.

This position currently belongs to adapted services department 2. Department 2 provides services to a total of 22 service recipients. Services are provided in shared apartments and individual homes. The range of services varies according to the service recipient's needs. From 1:1 staffing to shorter assignments. Services are provided to people in a wide age range of people with disabilities. We have skilled and experienced employees where targeted environmental work is a key part of the services provided in connection with the user's home and/or activities and to enable the individual user to master everyday life.

Facts about the position:

As mentioned, this position belongs to adapted services department 2, more specifically 1:1 staffing in 24-hour staffed housing.

The position involves day/evening/night work, both on weekdays and weekends, with opportunities for summer shifts during the summer vacation period.

As an on-call temporary worker and environmental therapist, you will have an important role in participating in the development of good services. The environmental therapists are part of a separate professional forum for college graduates in the service. There are regular meetings under the leadership of the professional and quality developer associated with the service.

Tasks:

  • Follow up service provision in accordance with decisions, including health care in the home and/or practical assistance and training in accordance with procedures and measures in the professional binder.
  • Ensure user management and user participation.
  • Medication management.

We reserve the right to make changes to the position's area of responsibility and work, as a review of housing and service structure in the service is currently underway.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Approved police certificate.
  • Driver's license class B.
  • Good Norwegian skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience from work in health and care.
  • Ability to work independently in 1:1 follow-up after training.
  • Ability and willingness to carry out necessary training and follow established routines and measures.

Desirable requirement:

  • Starting or completed education in health and social care.
  • Good competence in observation, documentation and follow-up of health and care measures.
  • Experience with the use of technical aids.
  • Experience with somatic follow-up measures (e.g. nutrition, transfer, hygiene and observation of health status).

Employees are employed by Østre Toten Municipality on the terms and conditions set out in applicable laws, regulations and the General Collective Agreement. 2% of gross salary is deducted for pension.
