Place of work:

The position is part of the municipal area for health and coping (HM). The health and care sector's goals and strategies are anchored in the document "New Welfare 2040", and focus on coping, independence, belonging and participation. Through "New Welfare 2040", the home care service focuses on public health and preventive efforts. We want to help create a community municipality, where residents experience an inclusive local community and are given the opportunity to take care of their own health and master their own lives. Cooperation with relatives and volunteers is key, and we are constantly adopting new welfare technology aids.

The home care service in Østre Toten municipality is located in new premises at Labo. The home care service is organized in 3 departments with a common night service. Each department has its own manager and patient coordinator who facilitates good patient flow in everyday work. There is free parking for employees and accessible service cars, which are in a parking garage. There is also access to a canteen.

Facts about the position:

We are looking for a health care worker / assistant nurse in a permanent 100% position. The work tasks consist of care, care and practical help in the home to residents of Østre Toten.

As an employee with us, you will be part of a professional network with nurses, health professionals and assistants with broad and good expertise. You will receive support and guidance so that you can feel confident in the tasks you will perform as a representative of Østre Toten municipality.

Tasks:

  • Provide health care and practical assistance in the users' own homes, in accordance with applicable decisions, professional competence and ethical guidelines.
  • Observe users and be able to detect changes in their state of health.
  • Dispensing of medication to users, according to the approved medication exam for health professionals/assistants.
  • Documentation in patient records.
  • Participation in professional development, updating training plans and supervision of students and apprentices.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Authorization as a health care worker/auxiliary nurse
  • Approved police certificate
  • Driver's license class B
  • Good communication skills in Norwegian, both written and oral

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience from home care
  • General ICT skills

As an employee of Østre Toten municipality, you will be covered by a good pension and insurance scheme. We have meaningful work tasks and an inclusive working environment. Employees are employed by Østre Toten Municipality on the terms and conditions set out in applicable laws, regulations and the General Collective Agreement. 2% of the gross salary is deducted for pension purposes.

In the event of internal rotation, a different percentage of the position may become vacant. It will then be used by the same applicant pool for employment.
