Place of work:

The positions are part of the municipal area health and coping (HM). The health and care sector's goals and strategies are anchored in the document "New Welfare 2040", and focus on coping, independence, belonging and participation. Through "New Welfare 2040", the home care service focuses on public health and preventive efforts. We want to help create a community municipality, where residents experience an inclusive local community and are given the opportunity to take care of their own health and master their own lives. Cooperation with relatives and volunteers is key, and we are constantly using new welfare technology aids.

The home care service in Østre Toten municipality is located at Labo nursing home. There is free parking for employees, and service cars for all employees are parked in a heated parking garage.

The home care service is organized in 3 departments with a common night service. Each department has its own manager and patient coordinator who facilitates good patient flow.

About the positions:

We are looking for health care workers / other skilled workers with health care education or students who educate themselves in health care for 14-25% weekend positions, permanent employment with work every 2nd weekend or 3rd weekend.

It is possible to work more as an on-call substitute in addition to the weekend positions. The departments consist of assistants, students, health professionals and nurses.

As an employee with us, you will be part of a large professional network of nurses, health professionals and assistants with broad expertise and experience. You will receive support and guidance so that you can feel confident in the tasks you will perform as a representative of Østre Toten municipality. As a health care worker/student with us, you work according to current routine descriptions and procedures in our quality system, and strive for a high professional level.

Current tasks in our service:

  • Provide health care and practical assistance in the users' own homes, according to current decisions and in accordance with ethical guidelines.
  • Distribution of medication to users, after approved medicine exam for health care workers/assistants.
  • Documentation in patient records.
  • Updating action plans, supervision of students and apprentices and participation in professional development.
  • Observing users, being able to detect changes in health status and initiate measures.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Professional worker, nurse/protective nurse student or health professional student.
  • Approved police certificate.
  • Driver's license class B.

Desirable requirements:

  • Experience from home services or other health-related experience. Training will be provided.
