Service area institution:

Institutional services include full-time care in nursing homes and currently consist of 2 dementia departments and a long-term care department. Østre Toten municipality has modern facilities, including Labo health and care center, which opened in 2020.

The service area has high professional coverage and works actively with person-centered care, dementia care and interdisciplinary collaboration. There is a strong focus on professional development, technology and holistic patient pathways. Institutional services are also part of the national development program TØRN, which promotes full-time culture and competence-based organization.

Institutional services also consist of a separate night watch department that serves residents and users at night, both inside the institution and out in the home service. In addition, a separate department of AKS (Advanced Clinical Nursing) has been established under the institutional service. This is a small department of specialist nurses who assist all the service areas within health and coping with their specialist expertise, and who contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration both internally and externally with hospitals, for example.
