County-wide Legal Psychiatry has a county-wide responsibility regarding compulsory care according to the LRV, the law on forensic psychiatric care. We receive patients who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care, but also in some cases particularly care-demanding patients on LPT and patients who belong to the correctional service. There are a total of 44 inpatient beds, divided into 5 care wards and an admissions ward. In addition to inpatient care, around fifty patients are cared for within the framework of open compulsory care, which is administered by two outpatient care teams. In order to ensure the nursing staff at the forensic psychiatric clinic in Öjebyn, a targeted investment is made for this group. Currently, a salary supplement of SEK 4,000/month is paid based on full-time service. Within forensic psychiatric care, protection for the public and crime victims must also be taken into account. The practical nursing work can consist of support conversations, social training, teaching and support for patients and relatives.
