Kalix sjukhus is a local hospital with the motto "Greatness with the little hospital". We have two care departments: the unit for internal medicine, palliative care and the rehab/stroke unit in a total of 24 beds. Kalix sjukhus was named Sweden's 5th best small hospital in Dagens Medicin 2016 and the Rehab/stroke unit received honorable mention in 2016, 2017 and 2018 for good stroke care in the national stroke register's annual ranking and "stroke unit of the year" in 2019 and 2020.
Kalix hospital is one of five hospitals in the county; the catchment area includes Kalix, Haparanda, Övertorneå and Överkalix municipalities with approx. 34,000 citizens. We have reception services in internal medicine, neurology, urology, (general surgery), hematology, eye care, oncology, dialysis care, PRT, outpatient rehabilitation.

We are looking for
Licensed physician. You have a solid interest in our specialty and want to be involved and influence the future development. You have experience in palliative care and you have a strong commitment to the patient group of palliative medicine and internal medicine. Swedish medical license with knowledge of Swedish C1 level.
We put great emphasis on your personal characteristics. You are safe, stable and have self-awareness. You have the ability to make decisions and are motivated to achieve results. You take initiative and work structured. Furthermore, you have a high level of cooperation, are responsive and can adapt to others.
You get to work with this
You will work as an ST doctor in palliative care. Together with your supervisor and director of studies, you design an individual education plan, with placement within the various specialties required to achieve the target description of specialist competence in palliative medicine. Tutoring will partly take place remotely.
You will work independently as well as have close cooperation with the respective specialty at the clinic and be part of that work group as well as have close cooperation with the palliative counseling team and the oncology care with us.
We work with continuous improvements with patient safety and the working environment in focus. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and good treatment.

The position is a full-time educational position. Training positions have fixed salary levels
