Internal Medicine/Geriatrics Sunderby Hospital is one of Region Norrbotten's largest clinics and is tasked with being a competence center for the county in the areas of kidney medicine, hematology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, geriatrics and osteoporosis. The clinic also has a basic mission for the residents of Luleå/Boden for general internal medicine, palliative care and stroke care.

We are now looking for a unit manager for the hematology reception and the PRT (palliative counseling team).

The hematologist's office includes both reception and day care. It is a varied job that includes both reception work and giving treatments to haematological patients such as cytostatic treatment, antibodies and transfusions. The work also includes taking care of patients who are part of clinical trials.

The palliative counseling team acts as a link between the municipality, inpatient care and primary care. The palliative counseling team is involved in designing the county-wide palliative care in Norrbotten together with other counseling teams in the county.


We are looking for

We are looking for you who have a relevant university or college education in healthcare. We see it as meritorious if you have previous experience of working in a senior position. We are also looking for you who have an interest in patient safety responsibility as this is part of this service.

As unit manager, you stimulate and create the conditions to continuously work on the development and improvement of working methods and flows through participation. You are communicative in your leadership, value good collaborations, lead and motivate employees to achieve jointly set goals.

In the role of unit manager, you are responsible for operations, finances, personnel and the work environment. You contribute to providing the right conditions for an open and positive climate in the work group where everyone feels participation and can participate and contribute to the development of a good work environment. You are involved in creating conditions for the improvement work within the business together with the employees. You work for safe care and initiate and drive improvement of patient safety, which is also part of the work. With responsibility in patient safety, this means monitoring and driving developments in the area of ​​patient safety, for example by monitoring the environment and actively following developments in health and medical care, compiling status reports, carrying out analyzes and supporting management and control for patient safety.

You are directly subordinate to the deputy operations manager and are part of management groups for internal medicine together with 9 unit manager colleagues, where you are expected to contribute to the development and fulfillment of the operations' goals.

Information about the service

The appointment is a permanent appointment in your basic profession with a time-limited managerial appointment of 3 years. The working hours are shifted to daytime and the employment is full-time.
