We are seeking a dedicated physician for a full-time (100%) permanent position. The position is affiliated with the Municipal Medical Center, with work locations at Brumunddal Nursing Home and Nes Nursing Home/FSE. Brumunddal Nursing Home has 95 beds and 1.2 full-time equivalent physician positions. The position also includes providing medical care at Nes Nursing Home, which has 10 short-term care beds, and the FSE (Enhanced Protected Unit), which has 12 long-term care beds. We are committed to patient-centered care and individualized treatment plans, using the question “What is important to you?” as a key starting point. Professional development is central to our mission. As a nursing home physician, you will work with a wide range of medical issues in geriatrics, palliative care, dementia, medication reviews, and complex chronic diseases. You will participate in professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and in-house training, and we facilitate opportunities for skill enhancement and specialization. This position may count toward up to two years of residency training in general practice.

Job Responsibilities

As a nursing home physician, you will:

  • Have medical responsibility for patients at the nursing homes
  • Conduct assessments, treatment, and follow-up of patients with complex health challenges
  • Contribute to high-quality, safe, and comprehensive patient care pathways
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Contribute to professional development, quality assurance, and in-house training
  • Serve as a key advisor and partner for other professional groups

Qualifications

  • Norwegian medical license
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in Norwegian
  • Specialist certification in general practice, internal medicine, physical medicine, or another relevant specialty is preferred

We facilitate specialization, and this position may count toward up to two years of residency in general practice.

Practical Information

Salary according to KS.

A recent police background check must be presented before starting the position (no older than 3 months).
