Brief description of the position and work location:

Brumunddal Middle School will have approximately 380 students and about 50 employees during the 2026–2027 school year. The school is organized by grade level, with one grade-level coordinator per grade and two homeroom teachers per class. We work systematically to improve students’ foundational skills and address the interdisciplinary themes in the new curriculum. The school has implemented a 1:1 computer program for all students, and digital literacy is a key focus area. The school has strong support systems, including counselors and youth advisors who work closely with teachers and students. Over the next two years, we will be actively working to promote student participation in academic subjects and in the development of social skills. As part of Ringsaker School, our goal is to provide our students with the best possible learning outcomes—both academically and socially.

We are hiring:

At Brumunddal Middle School, a full-time (100%) permanent position as a youth counselor will be available starting September 1, 2026.

Job Responsibilities:

A youth counselor may work with individual students or groups of students. Together with the rest of the professional community, the youth counselors will contribute to a safe and positive school environment for all our students. In this work, building strong relationships with the youth and equipping them with skills that promote good physical and mental health will be essential.
