We are now looking for a Service Host for Scandic Star’s conference department.
No matter why a guest comes to us, few things are as appreciated as a friendly face that welcomes them. As a Service Host, you’ll act as a host alongside the rest of the hotel team and create a world-class guest experience.
In the role of Service Host, you’ll work within one or more areas of responsibility, all of which contribute to the guest’s overall experience. During your time with us, these areas may vary as you and the business evolve. You will work in our conference department and at the front desk. With us, you’ll take significant personal responsibility for making the decisions needed to ensure guest satisfaction, and the teams develop and improve work processes and service as the world around us changes. What does the role of Service Host entail?
As someone working in the conference department, you are an important ambassador for both Scandic as a chain, but above all for Star and our guests’ meeting experience. That’s why it’s crucial that you have a warm demeanor and pay attention to details as well as guests’ needs. You have a passion for service and appreciate order and organization, both in your own work and that of your colleagues. All to ensure our guests have a fantastic meeting experience. Your main responsibilities include conference operations, such as welcoming guests in the morning, preparing refreshments, being available to assist throughout the day, helping with technical issues, and much more. No two days are alike.
Who are you?
To be a good fit for this role, we believe you have at least one year of experience in similar work as well as experience with concept-driven operations. Since the job largely involves communicating with guests, fluent Swedish and a good command of English are required. Speaking an additional language is a plus.
Most important, however, are your personal qualities and your attitude. To be a good fit for the role, you need to be a responsive and unpretentious team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall results. It is also important that you can provide excellent hospitality to the hotel’s guests.
Job Information:
This is a fixed-term, part-time position starting in August and running through the end of November, with the possibility of extension.
