We are now looking for a conference manager for Scandic Stars conference department.
Regardless of why the guest comes to us, there are few things that are as appreciated as a friendly face that greets you. As a Service Host, you act as a host together with the rest of the team at the hotel and create a world-class guest experience.
As a Service Host, you will work in one or more areas of responsibility that all contribute to the overall guest experience. During your time with us, these areas may vary as you and the business develop. You will work in our conference department and at the reception. You'll take a lot of responsibility for making the decisions needed to satisfy our guests, and our teams will develop and improve our ways of working and service as the world around us changes. What does the role of Conference Manager entail?
As a Meeting & Event Manager, you are an important ambassador for Scandic as a chain, but above all for Star and our guests' meeting experience. Therefore, it is of great importance that you have a warm welcome and are attentive to details and the guest's needs. You have a passion for service and like order and tidiness, both in your own and your colleagues' work. All to give our guests a great meeting experience. Your main tasks are conference operations such as welcoming guests in the morning, preparing coffee breaks, being helpful during the day, helping with the furniture, assisting with technical issues, you also handle some administrative tasks, be responsible for furniture lists and much more. No two days are the same.
Who are you?
To be suitable for this role, we believe you will have at least one year of experience in similar work and experience in concept-driven operations. Since the work largely consists of communicating with guests, fluency in Swedish and good knowledge of English is a prerequisite. If you speak another language, it is an advantage.
Most importantly, however, are your personal qualities and attitude. To fit the role, you need to be a responsive and unpretentious team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall result. It is also important that you can convey good hospitality to the hotel's guests.
Information about the position:
The position is a permanent full-time position. We apply probationary employment for 6 months.
Start date of this position is by agreement.
