Are you the one?

Three kilometers outside Örebro city, just a couple of turns off the E18 and E20, lies Scandic Örebro Väst—a perfect base for exploring the city’s culture and entertainment. Our guests can feel right at home in our restaurant, Köksbaren, enjoy a drink at the bar, and relax on the sofa in front of the fireplace.

We want to be the obvious choice when you decide to visit Örebro. We do this by maintaining a strong service culture and offering a top-class hotel, but the most important part is the people who do the incredible work to make it happen—our employees. That’s why we make it a point to encourage one another every day and maintain a positive atmosphere within the team.

We are now looking for a property manager for Scandic Örebro Väst.

No matter why a guest comes to us, few things are as appreciated as a friendly face that welcomes them. You’ll act as a host alongside the rest of the hotel team and create a world-class guest experience.

With us, you’ll have a great deal of autonomy to make the decisions needed to ensure guest satisfaction, and our teams continuously develop and improve our work processes and service as the world around us changes. We’re convinced that it’s when you’re able to grow and contribute all your skills and experience that we exceed our guests’ expectations. And on top of that, we have fun at work!

So bring your experience, your dedication, and your way of thinking to us—and help build a culture where we truly care: about each other, our guests, and our planet. Welcome to Scandic!

What does the role entail?

As a property manager at Scandic, your primary focus is keeping the hotel in top condition for our guests. Scandic is a tenant and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both the hotel’s property and the building itself. Much of the work takes place in hotel rooms and other guest areas, so you’ll be saying “hello” to our guests in the hallways quite often—that’s exactly where and when we demonstrate the excellent service we provide.

In this role, you’ll handle day-to-day operations as well as scheduled and corrective maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and systems, such as doors, locks, and furnishings and equipment in hotel rooms, the gym, kitchen, restaurant, conference rooms, pool, and sauna/relaxation area. Measures to optimize the building’s climate control systems, heating, and ventilation, as well as meter readings, are also included.

Furthermore, the role involves working with the hotel’s fire safety and security, property operations, and maintenance—both preventive and emergency. Sustainability is a key priority, and you will therefore actively work to further integrate it into our work processes. The business involves a number of regulatory requirements, and you’ll be involved in many of them. Organization, attention to detail, drive, and flexibility are key qualities; you have an eye for detail and thrive around people and in a dynamic environment. You’ll report to a Property Manager.

Who are you?

We’re looking for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys days that are never the same—one day you might be clearing a clog in a sewer line, the next you’ll be taking water samples, and the third you’ll be handling administrative tasks. The position is very hands-on—this is not an office job. The hotel’s guests and your colleagues will be your clients. We’re looking for someone with technical training and experience in property management. You have knowledge in one of the following areas: electrical, HVAC, or control and regulation technology. Knowledge of fire safety is required for this position, as well as training in fire alarm and sprinkler systems and relevant certifications. Additionally, you should be computer literate and have a good command of Swedish and English.

Job details:

This is a permanent, part-time position (75%). The possibility of a full-time (100%) position may arise in the future.

We require a probationary period. Your immediate supervisor will be the hotel manager. The position involves day shifts on weekdays and weekends. Start date: as soon as possible.

We only accept applications through our website. All applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline, so we ask that you apply as soon as possible. For this recruitment, we’ll be using a simple service test as part of the selection process.

We look forward to welcoming you to Scandic!

P.S. You can read even more about the position, our culture, and our benefits on our website!

At least 3 years of experience as a property manager is required. Experience in the service industry is a big plus.

It all starts with you. Working at one of our hotels means being part of a team where thoughtfulness, collaboration, and small everyday moments make a difference. You help create the warm, home-like atmosphere that characterizes Scandic—by being present, right here and now, and making sure the details matter.

Some days fly by, others are more predictable—no two days are alike. But what always remains is the team spirit. You’re there for one another, solve problems as they arise, and take pride in delivering quality—even when the pace is fast. And when you do that, guests don’t just enjoy their stay—they want to come back.

This is how we work at Scandic
