The Position

As a project and research engineer in automation, you’ll play a key role in the development of our wind and hydroelectric power plants. You’ll work on technical studies, requirements specification, and quality assurance to ensure that the facilities operate reliably throughout their technical lifespan. You’ll be involved in all phases of the projects, from concept to implementation, and contribute your expertise in automation and control systems.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for defining technical requirements and conducting follow-ups within your area of expertise. You will develop technical guidelines, review documentation, and participate in inspections, quality checks, and tests such as FAT and SAT. You will also work on the development of control systems and provide technical support to the operations and maintenance organization, for example, through status assessments and input for maintenance plans.

An important part of the job involves developing technical solutions and work methods. You will conduct analyses and investigations, translate experience into improvements, and contribute technical input to feasibility studies, cost estimates, and investment decisions. You’ll work closely with project managers, civil engineers, contractors, and colleagues in operations and maintenance.

You’ll be part of the Power Systems—Power Generation Technology group, where we work across several technical areas, including electrical systems, automation, turbines, generators, and mechanics. Here, you’ll find a broad range of technical expertise and excellent opportunities to both deepen your knowledge and learn from others. Together, we work to develop the wind and hydroelectric power of the future and meet increasing demands on the performance, functionality, and environmental sustainability of our facilities.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Skellefteå or Norsjö. The role involves travel to our facilities, sometimes requiring an overnight stay. Start date: as soon as possible.

Interested?

We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology who thrives in a role that combines problem-solving, development, and collaboration. You have the ability to work in a structured manner throughout the entire project, from the initial analysis to the final result. You plan your work carefully, break down complex tasks into clear steps, and set well-thought-out priorities to drive progress.

Since this role involves interacting with many different people, it’s important that you value collaboration and are comfortable sharing your knowledge. You listen to others’ perspectives, draw on the expertise around you, and contribute to finding solutions together with colleagues, contractors, and other departments within the organization.

You are confident in your technical expertise and maintain integrity in your work. This means you work meticulously in accordance with applicable rules, guidelines, and processes, and have the ability to stand firm on technical requirements even when different interests need to be balanced against one another. You are professional in your assessments and take responsibility for ensuring that the work meets the required quality standards.

We also believe that you are curious, proactive, and enjoy solving technical challenges. You can identify connections, analyze complex issues, and independently find ways forward. At the same time, you see opportunities to improve existing work methods and are eager to take the initiative to drive development forward.

With us, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your experience and continue to grow within a broad technical field, alongside dedicated colleagues who are eager to share their knowledge. We value a long-term perspective, accountability, and the desire to work together to create sustainable technical solutions for the energy production of the future.
