About the position We are looking for a laboratory technician for Smurfit Westrock Piteå Laboratorium. As a laboratory technician, you will work in our paper laboratory, which is also a reference laboratory in the group. The activities of the laboratory include environmental, process and quality control linked to production, assignments via the development organization and from other production units within the Smurfit Westrock Group. Your main tasks are to perform testing on paper produced at Smurfit Westrock's internal mills. This is to ensure that we maintain the right quality level, and that the right quality is purchased when we use external suppliers of liner to our corrugated mills. You will also work with testing linked to production investigations, complaints and development work. Who are you? You who apply have a 3-year upper secondary school diploma with a technical / scientific focus, and it is an advantage if you have taken a course in pulp and paper technology. It would be an advantage if you have process and product knowledge and relevant experience of laboratory work. As our customers also include other production units within Smurfit Westrock, you need to be able to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish and English. We are looking for you who have a systematic and methodical approach. The position requires you to be thorough, flexible and have good collaboration skills.
