About the Role

As HR Manager for Mechanical Maintenance – Sulfate, you’ll play a key role in leading and developing employees so they have the best possible conditions to succeed in their roles. Your team includes mechanics, welders, and maintenance technicians—a total of nearly 30 people. You are responsible for resource planning, skills development, and work processes. The role involves hands-on leadership, where you mentor, inform, and support staff in their day-to-day work.

You will actively participate in the department’s improvement efforts and help develop work processes that contribute to greater safety, stability, and efficiency.

Your main responsibilities

• Personnel management of mechanical maintenance staff.
• Take action if safety requirements are not met and halt work in the event of a safety risk.
• Actively contribute to the department’s and the business’s continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure that work complies with the Group’s and Smurfit Westrock Piteå’s policies, guidelines, and management systems.
• Work within the annual budget and approve expenditures in accordance with applicable approval rules.

We are looking for someone who has

• High school diploma.
• Relevant work experience with personnel responsibility.
• Experience leading a team.
• Strong technical understanding, preferably within the process industry.
• Knowledge of maintenance systems and administrative office software.
