We are seeking a production engineer with expertise in chemicals for Smurfit Westrock’s Quality and Process Development Department.
As a production engineer, your responsibilities will include working with the company’s chemical handling procedures. You will be part of the chemicals team and will carry out projects and training initiatives for employees.
You will work across functional boundaries and liaise with various roles both within and outside the company to coordinate and monitor current chemical regulations. You will also conduct investigations, prepare for, and assist with troubleshooting, problem-solving, and non-conformance management.
The department is also responsible for coordinating and planning internal and external audits for the ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 50001, in which you will play a key role.
Work environment and safety are core values in our operations and permeate all our work; therefore, these issues are also part of your responsibilities.
We are looking for someone who has:
At least 3 years of college education in chemistry.
To succeed in this role, we believe you are self-motivated and organized. You have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, are curious, and are eager to develop your skills in new areas.
It is advantageous if you have several years of relevant work experience, as well as some experience in production or the process industry, preferably in pulp and paper technology.
Experience working with ISO management systems and chemical regulations is a plus. Since we are an international group, you must have a good command of Swedish and English.
As a person, you are communicative and thrive in a collaborative environment. You are driven to achieve set goals, take initiative, are flexible in the face of change, and take independent responsibility for completing tasks.
