
Municipal Physical Therapist (Temporary Position) – 80% – available from August 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension.
The Physio Ergo Friskliv Department works to promote sustainable health, well-being, and quality of life for all residents of Søndre Land through the use of activity and interdisciplinary expertise.
The department consists of 7.8 full-time equivalents (FTEs) comprising various professionals: physical therapists, occupational therapists, assistive technology specialists, a nurse, a daily living rehabilitation coordinator, and a healthy living counselor. We collaborate with both internal and external organizations, including volunteers, clubs, and associations, at both the individual and systemic levels to create comprehensive and long-term solutions. The department also allocates 3 full-time equivalents in operating grants to private-practice physical therapists in Søndre Land Municipality.
The priority area for the municipal division of Coping and Welfare is “early intervention at all ages,” including a focus on prevention, daily life rehabilitation, daily life coping, assistive technology, and high-quality patient care pathways. The entire municipality works toward a shared focus under the Holistic Intervention Strategy.
As a physical therapist, you will work with all residents of all ages, both those living at home and in institutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Assessment and intervention aimed at the user’s coping and functional abilities, activity, participation, and environment.
Rehabilitation, habilitation, daily-life rehabilitation, and daily-life coping for residents living at home and in institutions.
Interdisciplinary collaboration with other professional groups and departments within the municipality.
Participation/coordinator role in care teams, as well as the development of individual plans (Visma Flyt Samspill).
Participation in the development of the municipality’s preventive efforts for all age groups—Early Intervention and the Holistic Intervention Ladder.
Participate in, teach, provide guidance for, and develop municipal group programs and coping courses.
Individual treatment.
Participation in the further development of the municipality’s service offerings to its residents. Participate in networking, project work, and the development of standard procedures.
The physical therapist must provide evidence-based physical therapy.
We are seeking:
A physical therapist with Norwegian licensure.
Broad expertise and interest in physical therapy for patients of all ages are desirable. Treatment takes place both individually and in groups.
Experience with or a desire to work in daily living rehabilitation, general rehabilitation, habilitation, and daily living skills.
Experience with or a desire to work with children and adolescents.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with patients, family members, and partners. Desire to participate and contribute as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong oral and written communication skills in Norwegian.
Strong computer skills (the municipality uses the Gerica pdd specialized system).
Proactive and innovative.< Strong ability to work independently.
Reliable, organized, and flexible.
High work capacity and strong ability to see tasks through to completion.
Has a positive attitude and a cheerful disposition.
Demonstrates a willingness to stay up to date on relevant professional developments and to apply physical therapy-specific knowledge.
