Hov Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and versatile medical secretary for a position that combines practical clinical tasks with administrative responsibilities. We’re looking for someone who thrives on varied tasks and wants to contribute to the efficient and professional operation of the medical center—both in front of and behind the scenes.
You will be part of a skilled and dedicated team consisting of primary care physicians, LIS 1 residents, medical secretaries, and a biomedical engineer. We prioritize a positive work environment, collaboration, and high professional standards.
The medical services in Søndre Land Municipality are led by a department head with an office at the medical center. This ensures close supervision and strong support in your day-to-day work.
Job Details:

- Day shift
- Salaried as a medical secretary with job code 7199
Practical duties:
- Receiving and handling patient inquiries by phone, electronically, and at the reception desk
- Liaising with the on-call medical service, ambulance, emergency medical dispatch center (AMK), and other partners
- Laboratory work, including drawing blood and analyzing patient samples
- Performing ECGs, spirometry, and 24-hour blood pressure monitoring
- Injections and wound care
- Working in the dressing room and assisting with minor surgical procedures
- Assistance with acute medical conditions
Requirements:
- Training as a medical secretary or, alternatively, training as a healthcare assistantGood IT skills
- Good Norwegian language skills, both spoken and written
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a doctor’s office is desirable but not required
