Description of the workplace.

We are located in spacious, bright, and pleasant offices in Hov. At Hov Medical Center, you’ll work as part of a team alongside general practitioners, LIS 1 residents, a biomedical engineer, and medical secretaries.
We work closely together, share experiences, and learn from one another. The medical services in Søndre Land are led by a department head who has an office at the medical center and will therefore be your immediate supervisor

We are seeking:

On-call substitute as a medical secretary/nurse

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answering and handling patient inquiries by phone, electronically, and at the reception desk
  • Answering and handling inquiries from the emergency medical service, ambulance, emergency medical dispatch center (AMK), and other partners
  • Laboratory work, including blood draws and analysis of patient samples
  • ECG
  • Spirometry
  • 24-hour blood pressure monitoring
  • Injections
  • Work in the dressing room
  • Wound care
  • Assisting the physician with minor surgical procedures
  • Assisting the physician with acute medical conditions
  • Other ad hoc tasks at the medical center, such as mail handling, ordering supplies, etc.

Required qualifications:

  • Must have relevant healthcare education.

  • Relevant experience from a doctor’s office.
  • You are solution-oriented and flexible, and enjoy taking responsibility in your daily work.
  • You are service-oriented, flexible, and have good teamwork skills.
  • You are adaptable and open to change.
  • You help create a positive work environment and collaborate well with your colleagues.
  • Good Norwegian language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan your work in a busy daily routine.
  • Good computer skills.

  • Employment on the terms set forth in applicable laws, regulations, and agreements at any given time.  2% of gross salary is deducted for pension.
