Data is a key driver of development and value creation at the bank. We are now seeking a Data Governance Manager who will play a central role in further developing how we work with data as we transition to a modern, decentralized data architecture in the cloud. You will work closely with the business to understand its needs and help ensure that data is used as a strategic resource. At the same time, you will develop, implement, and manage frameworks, processes, and practices that ensure high data quality, good availability, and effective data governance.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and manage a robust data governance system, including guidelines, standards, principles, and procedures that ensure the accuracy, quality, consistency, and integrity of data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data-driven opportunities and initiatives
- Be responsible for the content and management of the business glossary
- Collaborate with data owners and other data stewards to develop and implement data requirements
- Serve as a liaison between business and data/technology teams to apply data standards and processes (e.g., data access, classification, quality, certification, metadata, lifecycle, and retention, etc.)
- Coordinate business interests and collaborate with cross-functional data stewards, compliance, privacy, product, and technology teams in the development of data governance and data management solutions
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or related fields.
- 2 or more years of data governance experience.
- Knowledge of how organizations successfully develop and implement a data governance model.
- An understanding of how good data quality plays a crucial role in business processes.
- Knowledge of and experience using the DAMA framework.
- Knowledge of regulations governing privacy and data protection.
- Knowledge of the banking/finance industry is a plus.
- At SpareBank 1 Østlandet, our working language is Norwegian—therefore, a strong command of Norwegian is a prerequisite for working with us.
