Type of Employment Full-time

Are you the one?

Would you like to be part of a leadership team that is passionate about developing people and work methods—where everyone contributes and where we see our differences as a strength? At our company, we believe that diversity is the key to success.

To succeed in this role, we’re looking for a hands-on, coaching-style leader with a strong drive to develop both individuals and the business in a structured and long-term way.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet’s future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future—in our homes, in the bridges that connect our cities, and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we’re proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we’re aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. We have therefore developed the world’s first fossil-free steel production process and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play a key role in achieving this goal and thereby contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the Position

The Forming section is part of the Hot Rolling & Forming department and consists of four sections with associated support areas. In total, we have approximately 120 employees. In the forming lines, we cut and straighten sheet metal to ensure our customers receive the correct dimensions and high flatness.

We are now looking for a Section Manager for one of our forming lines—Forming Line 1

Production places high demands on processes, technology, and expertise—areas in which you, as a leader, will play a central role in further developing. We are in an exciting phase of development with investment plans linked to SSAB’s strategy to expand forming capacity in Borlänge. As a section manager, you’ll work daytime hours and lead employees who work shifts around the clock. You’ll be supported by a close-knit management team consisting of a day-shift operator and an operations assistant.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead and develop staff and the work environment
  • Be responsible for environmental matters, the budget, and investments in the area
  • Manage operations from the perspective of a plant owner
  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production
  • Develop work methods and processes together with the organization
  • Be responsible for the budget and investments in the role of plant manager

About you

  • You have at least a high school diploma, preferably supplemented with higher education in a relevant field
  • We’d like to see that you have leadership experience, preferably in industry, maintenance, or a similar field
  • Experience with change management is a plus
  • You are analytical and able to prioritize from a holistic perspective
  • You are communicative and find it easy to build good relationships
  • You are organized, clear, and confident in your leadership
  • You have a good command of Swedish and English
  • We place great importance on your personal qualities.
