The laboratory’s mission is to perform analyses and tests primarily for the environmental and production departments. Our environmental and steel analyses are accredited by SWEDAC, which means that our quality assurance standards are high. This position is based at the operations laboratory, which supports the steel mill with analyses. As an analysis operator at the operations laboratory, your main responsibilities will consist of metallurgical analyses for SSAB’s iron and steel production.
This position involves shift work. Location: Luleå. You will be part of a team consisting of a laboratory engineer, service technicians, and service and analysis operators. The laboratory works closely with our customers, and we perform analyses for the entire production chain in Luleå.
Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
Your main responsibilities
- Perform analyses on metallurgical samples, raw materials, and by-products (combustion analysis as well as optical and X-ray spectroscopic methods)
- Report and approve analysis results for the customer
- Inspect and perform operational adjustments on instruments according to established procedures
About You
- You have a high school diploma that has provided you with knowledge in chemistry and mathematics (natural sciences/technology)
- Good technical understanding and an interest in analytical work.
- Experience with laboratory work and/or knowledge of SSAB’s production processes is a plus
- You have strong teamwork skills
- You speak and write Swedish. You can read and understand basic technical English.
