Would you like to help develop SSAB’s existing and future strategically important facilities in Sweden and the U.S.? We’re looking for someone interested in hardware-oriented programming, automation, and embedded systems who wants to help take the next step toward new and improved production facilities. Location: Oxelösund.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet’s future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future—in our homes, in the bridges that connect our cities, and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we’re proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we’re aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. We have therefore developed the world’s first fossil-free steel production process and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play a key role in achieving this goal and thereby contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.
About the Position
The position will primarily focus on existing and future production facilities in Oxelösund (Sweden) and Mobile (USA), where the focus is primarily on process-related systems and automation in industrial environments.
The work will be project-based, and you will work across a wide range of SSAB’s facilities. The position involves working independently and taking personal responsibility, as well as collaborating with your colleagues in the team and within a broad network across the various locations. Your primary points of contact will include project managers, designers, process engineers, maintenance technicians, operations technicians, and operators. In systems and automation, we use both graphical tools (e.g., ProviewR) and programming in C/C++ in a Linux environment.
