About the Position

As an automation technician with us, you’ll enjoy a varied workday filled with technical challenges in a complex and exciting production environment.

You’ll work closely with operations, maintenance, electricians, and mechanics, and together you’ll be responsible for ensuring that production has reliable and efficient systems. The role involves both operational work on the plant floor and participation in improvement and development projects.

An important part of your role is to contribute to high operational availability by working proactively on troubleshooting, improvements, and the development of automation solutions. In the long term, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to work related to SSAB’s new steel mill.

The work may include everything from programming and system changes to testing, commissioning, and optimization of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.

Your main responsibilities

· Ensure high operational availability at the steel mill’s production facility

· Work with troubleshooting, operation, and improvement of automation systems

· Develop and implement automation solutions in existing systems

· Participate in projects related to production and maintenance

· Provide technical support to the operations organization

· Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers

About You

· Technical education in electrical engineering and automation (high school or post-secondary)

· Experience in the process industry or a similar environment

· Strong expertise in electrical and automation systems

· Good command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

· Class B driver’s license

Desirable

· Siemens S7 and TIA Portal

· SCADA systems (e.g., iFix or WinCC)

· Networks and industrial IT systems
