Are you the one?

Would you like to be part of one of Europe's largest industrial transformation projects? We are now looking for the last construction manager out of five for our different construction areas. This role is specifically linked to Construction Area 5 (CA5), which is responsible for infrastructure works within the project in Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play an important role in realizing this goal and thus contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the position

SSAB's Board of Directors has decided to invest 4.5 billion euros to convert production in Luleå to fossil-free steel production. The new plant will have a capacity of 2.5 million tons/year and include two electric arc furnaces, advanced secondary metallurgy, a direct rolling mill for specialty products and a cold rolling mill for premium products in the mobility segment.

SSAB is in a green transition and we are now looking for a dedicated and experienced Construction Manager to lead and coordinate on-site construction and installation activities in the building and industrial area with emphasis on infrastructure works.

Please note that we are taking a summer break in recruitment during the Swedish industrial holiday, which runs from July 1 to early August. Thank you for your patience and understanding of any delays.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers and report deviations, risks and changes.
  • Responsible for clear and regular reporting of status, challenges and progress.
  • Motivate and lead the team in a fast-paced environment and create a positive working environment.

About you

  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience, of which at least 8 years in project management in complex industrial environment (e.g. process industry, oil & gas, manufacturing, mining).
  • Documented experience in civil engineering and road construction.
  • High school education in construction, civil engineering, road and water, or equivalent.
