As a Development Engineer at the Metallurgical Development department, you will run process development projects and participate in research projects together with various research institutes. Location Luleå.

About the position

You will be part of a team of development engineers and specialists who work to improve and develop our processes and steel grades. The work is done in close collaboration with the production departments and includes both operational and strategic development issues. You will lead and participate in projects aimed at strengthening SSAB's position in advanced steel production.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in process development projects within steel production
  • Develop new steel grades, including manufacturing specifications and follow-up of results
  • Collaborate with research institutes and universities in joint development projects
  • Contribute to internal forums and networks in metallurgical development
  • Investigate incoming complaints


About you

  • Masters of Science with a specialization in metallurgy, materials engineering or chemistry
  • Structured, analytical and solution-oriented
  • Good collaboration skills and communicative in both Swedish and English
  • Committed, curious and used to driving projects forward
