As a Development Engineer at the Metallurgical Development department, you will run process development projects and participate in research projects together with various research institutes. Location Luleå.

About the position

As a development engineer, you will work with the improvement and development of current processes but also future processes. Among other things, you will be involved in a project that will deliver new business processes and IT platforms that will support the upcoming Mini-mill business in Luleå.

The work takes place in close collaboration with the production sections and includes both operational and strategic development issues. You will lead and participate in projects aimed at strengthening SSAB's position in advanced steel production.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in process development projects in steel production
  • Collaborate with research institutes and universities in joint development projects
  • Contribute to internal forums and networks in metallurgical development

About you

  • Civil engineer with a focus on materials or machine
  • Structured, analytical and solution-oriented
  • Good collaboration skills and communicative in both Swedish and English
  • Committed, curious and used to driving projects forward
  • Preferable to have worked in process or production development
