Are you the one?

Do you want to work with advanced electricity distribution in a business that is facing a historic transition? At SSAB, you will have a varied role with great responsibility, good development opportunities and colleagues who value both safety and cooperation. Location Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play an important role in realizing this goal and thus contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

As an Electrical Power Technician, you will be part of the Electricity Distribution section where you work to ensure stable and safe electricity distribution through system operation, renewal and technical maintenance of the plant assets. The section is responsible for the operation and maintenance of low and high voltage facilities that supply SSAB's processes and other operations within the industrial area.

The facilities include DC systems, low voltage (24-525V) and high voltage (3-145 kV).

The role involves a varied work where you handle both planned operations and acute operational disturbances. You will work with operational changes, supervision, functional tests and installation work in both low and high voltage environments. The service also includes contributing to long-term skills transfer and development of the company's working methods and facilities.

The working hours are daytime and you may eventually be included in scheduled standby duty.

Your main responsibilities

  • Ensure operational safety in high voltage installations up to 145 kV through planned and preventive maintenance.
  • Responsible for the correct and safe implementation of operational changes, both for planned work and emergency events.
  • Maintain high quality in supervision, installations and functional tests in the electrical installations.
  • Contribute to ensuring that installation and assembly work is carried out in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements in both low and high voltage environments.
  • Participate in the planning, preparation and ordering of work, including coordination with internal and external actors.
  • Support the business in technical investigations and analysis of operational disturbances, as well as ensuring documentation and reporting.
  • Responsible for the correct handling of digital control and monitoring systems, such as station control, relay protection and energy measurement.
  • In case of emergency: be responsible for operational management, troubleshooting and emergency operational changes in electricity distribution.
