Är du den rätta?

Are you looking for a role where you can combine technology, problem-solving, and development work in an environment that’s always evolving?

As an electrical technician at the Luleå Steelworks, you’ll play a key role in developing and securing future production. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to influence facilities, work methods, and long-term maintenance strategies in close collaboration with skilled colleagues and the business.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means embarking on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet’s future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future—in our homes, in the bridges that connect our cities, and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we’re proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we’re aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. That has to change. We have therefore developed the world’s first fossil-free steel production process and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play a key role in achieving this goal and thereby contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the Position

As an electrical technician, you will be part of the Electrical/IT section at the Steelworks. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability and operational reliability at our production facilities. Since operations run 24 hours a day, you will continuously monitor the facilities’ performance, analyze deviations, and initiate corrective actions in the event of faults or deficiencies.

You are responsible for planning and developing maintenance initiatives and contributing to the creation of long-term maintenance plans. The role involves close collaboration with both production and the maintenance organization, where you will serve as technical support to the manager, electrical engineers, electricians, instrumentation technicians, automation technicians, and maintenance planners.

You will also participate in technical projects, development initiatives, and problem-solving assignments within your area of responsibility. The section consists of automation technicians, instrumentation technicians, electricians, and electrical engineers, and the role reports to the section manager.

Together with dedicated colleagues, you will help develop operations, work methods, and processes to support the company’s strategies and goals. Safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement are natural parts of everyday life, where you help create the conditions for a well-functioning operation and a positive work environment.

Your main responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance of the facilities and identify improvement measures to enhance operational stability and availability.
  • Plan and coordinate actions in the event of faults and deficiencies, and ensure the selection of an appropriate contractor.
  • Decide on and develop maintenance initiatives in collaboration with the maintenance organization.
  • Provide technical support to the manager and other roles within the organization.
  • Be responsible for convening and leading in-person and virtual meetings within the area of responsibility.
  • Participate in the department’s management activities and, when necessary, support the business through work supervision and temporary managerial support.
  • Participate in technical projects, development work, and problem-solving assignments.
  • Contribute to the development of operations, processes, and work methods to support the company’s strategies and goals.

About You

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Certification for electrical work in industrial settings.
  • Strong proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Proactive and organized, with the ability to drive issues forward and put ideas into practice.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain good relationships.
  • Interest in development and improvement initiatives, as well as a willingness to contribute to the continued development of the business.
