About the position

In the role of Section Manager, you will work both operationally and overall and be responsible for managing and developing the business in order to achieve goals in safety, work environment, quality and delivery capacity, but also planning and purchasing of goods and services. The tasks include allocating resources to projects and work orders, following up on these and developing operations and employees. Cooperation and communication are important both within the company and outside the company. You will be part of the Technology department's management team where you are expected to participate and contribute with your experience and knowledge to enable further development of our business and our way of working.

You have personnel responsibility for 28 mechanical and electrical designers, including consultants.

The designers are responsible for planning, preparation and design work in projects and in the work order flow, but also for support and development of existing equipment in production plants, mainly in the Sheet Metal unit (rolling mills & finishing).

About 700 employees work in the Sheet Metal unit.We are in a very exciting growth phase and in your role you will work with existing and new plant projects. You have an important role where you interact with many internal and external customers. Your leadership skills are important in this role as you will work with group dynamics, individual competence development plans and analysis of future competence needs within your area of responsibility.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and coach the team and the business, distribute work, allocate resources to projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Active work with safety issues and work environment, act on and follow up deviations in a structured way.
  • Collaborate within and outside the organization at all levels.
  • Set and follow up goals and ensure the function of the department and section.
  • Drive and follow up so that everyone in the team works according to the established way of working.
  • Get to know and build trust in the team and between individuals.
  • Communication and information in the organization and in the team.


About you

  • To succeed in the assignment, we prefer that you have a few years of documented experience of being a manager and preferably with a background in construction and technology. A big plus is if you have training in electricity and / or mechanics
  • It is highly meritorious if you understand SSAB's business and how we work with construction work here at Teknik Plåt.
  • As a manager, you are coaching, clear, structured and organized.
  • You can convey and develop our goals and strategies in an educational way so that you get the group on board.
  • In the role, you need to be good at prioritizing, be able to take proactive initiatives, handle administrative tasks and coordinate between different contacts.
  • You are confident as a person, dare to make decisions and through good examples you can get others to follow.
