Would you like to lead and develop a key maintenance organization in a production-critical operation?

We are now looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager for the Steelworks, responsible for a dedicated team of approximately 20 mechanics and technicians. Location: Luleå.

About the Position

As Head of Mechanical Maintenance at the Steelworks, you will be responsible for leading, planning, and developing mechanical maintenance operations at the Steelworks. You will have responsibility for personnel, workplace safety, operations, and the budget for the team, and will work actively to ensure high availability, safety, and operational reliability in the business.

You are a key member of the Steelworks’ maintenance management team, where you contribute to strategic decisions, development efforts, and long-term planning.

Your main areas of responsibility

  • Lead, coach, and develop employees in mechanical maintenance.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and a strong focus on safety.
  • Drive improvement initiatives to increase availability, efficiency, and operational reliability.
  • Be responsible for maintenance strategies, resource planning, and the budget.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and other support functions.
  • Actively contribute to the maintenance management team and support the development of the business.

About You

We are looking for a clear, goal-oriented, and engaging leader with the ability to create structure, build trust, and deliver results.

We’d like you to have:

  • Experience in leadership roles within industry, production, or maintenance.
  • Technical education or equivalent experience in mechanics or maintenance.
  • A solid understanding of industrial maintenance and operational reliability work.
  • The ability to work both strategically and operationally.
  • Experience with change management and improvement initiatives.
  • You are fluent in spoken and written Swedish and have a basic knowledge of English.
