Er du den rette?

Would you like to be one of the key people on our journey to produce fossil-free steel? As Head of the Coordination section, you will lead a team of 13 employees who together develop and plan metallurgical production. You will balance strategic long-term plans with "here and now" needs to navigate our transition journey. We are looking for people with previous management experience who have a keen interest in problem solving, ensuring quality and achieving production targets while developing and continuing to build the team. Does this sound exciting? Welcome with your application!

To become part of the SSAB family means to join a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play an important role in realizing this goal and thus contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the position

As Section Manager Coordination, you are part of the Metallurgy Production Planning Department and lead a team of 7 coordinators, 1 technician and 5 alloy handlers. As a team you are responsible for both short and long term production planning of metallurgy.

The coordinators reporting to you have constant dialog with all stations at the steel mill as well as primary metallurgy such as the blast furnace where they decide when to produce and how. Your role as a manager is to support the team and make sure that the shift team produces according to the intended plan.

The coordinators are the extended arms of the managers and have the right to move and direct staff and make decisions about production. The team works with planning the flow (logistics) and as production/operations managers.

In the role of manager here, you need to be able to make quick decisions and correct any consequences in parallel with coaching your employees to do the same. In addition to this, you are responsible for the Alloy Management at the steel plant where you, together with your team, ensure the quality and delivery of alloy and slag to the steel plant.

Selection will be made on an ongoing basis, but be prepared that it is vacation time and that response may be delayed.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead 13 employees (operators and officials) with a focus on safety and achieving production goals.
  • Responsible for securing the inventory process for our alloys and being involved in developing the new ways of working that will be added in the future operating conditions as we move towards becoming fossil-free.
  • You ensure that metallurgy production planning achieves the production target, and follow up and parry the deviations that arise.
  • Together with your team, work continuously to be able to maintain a stable production while implementing the transition to fossil-free steel.
  • Participate in projects and balance strategic issues linked to our future business with parrying needs here and now.

About you

  • We are looking for you with a few years of management experience, or experience from leading projects or similar - preferably from a manufacturing industry.
  • We are looking for a person who is confident in themselves and their leadership.
  • To successfully navigate in a fast-paced environment, you need to be structured and have good planning skills.
  • As a person, you are used to communicating at several levels and thrive on collaborating cross-functionally.
  • You thrive in a prestigious and open environment where colleagues help each other, solve problems and have fun at work.
  • Understand Swedish fluently in speech and writing.
  • Experience/knowledge of metallurgy or experience of production planning or process development.
  • Relevant university education.
