SSAB is facing a historic shift in steel production in connection with the transition to fossil-free steel production. This creates new opportunities and challenges for us at the laboratory in Luleå. We are now looking for a laboratory engineer who wants to join that journey.

About the service

The laboratory supports the entire production chain with quality-assured analyzes and expertise in chemistry matters. We have a well-equipped laboratory and staff with high competence. Our environmental and steel analyzes are accredited by SWEDAC, which means high demands on quality assurance. We are looking for an employee who can work with developing new and improving existing technology as well as developing and validating methods.

You will be part of a group consisting of laboratory engineers, service technicians, service and analysis operators. The laboratory works closely with our customers and we carry out analyzes for the entire production chain in Luleå.

Interviews take place continuously and the position can be filled before the application deadline.

Your main areas of responsibility

  • Initiate and carry out method development, modification and validation of analytical methods.
  • Initiate the purchase of and be responsible for the evaluation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing quality assurance.


About you

  • You have education from college/university with a focus on chemistry/analytical technology or equivalent.
  • Experience in laboratory, instrument and quality work is advantageous.
  • You, the applicant, are a committed person who works carefully and systematically to solve the problems you face.
  • You have good cooperation skills, build trust and work systematically.
  • You speak fluent Swedish and English and find it easy to express yourself both in writing and in speech.
  • Driving license is a requirement.
