SSAB is facing a historic technology shift as we transition to fossil-free steel production - a change that is reshaping our entire industry and our impact on the world. We are now taking the next step and establishing a new testing operation in Luleå, where we are looking for a laboratory engineer in mechanical testing who wants to be part of building something completely new. With us, you will be part of a company with strong drive and clear goals, in the middle of the green transition.
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.
About the position
In Luleå, we are establishing a modern and future-oriented business for materials testing, and as a laboratory engineer you will have a central role in developing how we work with mechanical testing. You will contribute to the development of sample preparation and testing methods and participate in the introduction of new equipment. You will also be an important part of our work towards ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, helping us to build a robust and reliable business.
