We are looking for a quality-conscious and driven laboratory engineer for our Testing organization in Oxelösund.

The testing department consists of three sections that cover Oxelösund's needs in chemical analysis, mechanical testing and metallography.

Our testing is a crucial part of the whole business, including:

• Providing feedback to the steelmaking process
• Issuing certificates for delivered products
• Developing new products
• Ensuring compliance with emission requirements

As a Laboratory Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that our chemical analysis results are reliable, of high quality and delivered efficiently.

You will also work closely with colleagues within the group working towards the areas of mechanical testing and metallography. Through strong collaboration across the testing department, you will contribute to the success of the company, especially in the exciting times we are facing with the climate change in the steel industry.

The position is mainly focused on water and steel analysis within our accredited activities at the chemistry lab.

Your main responsibilities

• Constantly support and develop the business so that it meets set goals in terms of production, quality, delivery reliability and costs from a more strategic perspective.
• Responsible for quality follow-up.
• Act as an expert in your own area, both in internal and external contexts.
• Develop and validate analytical methods.
• Drive projects, mainly investment projects and development of methods or existing equipment.
• Work closely with the department's section, as well as other departments within SSAB, to ensure that the testing lives up to the company's needs and is constantly developed and improved.
• Participate in both internal and external quality audits.
• Create and maintain good documentation such as instructions, reports and meeting notes.

About you

• We are looking for you who
• Have a university education in a relevant field.
• Preferably have a few years of work experience in relevant activities.
• Have experience of working with chemical analyzes.
• Have good communication and collaboration skills.
• Have a strong analytical ability and strategic thinking.
• Speak Swedish and English and have easy to express yourself in both speech and writing.
• Advantageous experience
• Knowledge of photometric methods, acid/base, pH and/or water sampling.
• Have good knowledge of working according to ISO/IEC 17025.
• Handling data from different systems such as lab data systems.
• * Combustion analysis carbon/nitrogen.
