The section is responsible for a wide range of analyses throughout the business and you may also work with other parts of the laboratory. As a laboratory technician with us, you will be an important part of ensuring that SSAB's products are of the highest quality and meet internal and external requirements.

The working hours are daytime.

The position is a temporary position of 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Your main responsibilities

  • Perform powder testing of steel, which includes sample preparation, analysis and quality assurance of results.
  • Work with different types of chemical analyses within the section's lab.
  • Enter and document results in our systems according to current routines.
  • Perform troubleshooting, calibration and simpler maintenance of laboratory instruments.
  • Contribute to the development of methods, routines and working methods.
  • Act as an ambassador for safety and compliance with SSAB's work environment requirements.

About you

  • You have a laboratory education in chemistry or equivalent relevant focus.
  • You have experience of laboratory work - preferably in metallurgy, materials analysis or industrial laboratory environment.
  • You have a good habit of working methodically, following instructions and ensuring quality at every step.
  • You have the ability to handle several parallel tasks and contribute to positive teamwork.

Advantageous

  • Experience in powder testing or analysis of metallic materials
  • Knowledge of laboratory instruments
