The main task of the Maintenance department is to provide competent and efficient maintenance services to ensure a high operational availability of our plants and production equipment.

Field Service performs remedial mechanical maintenance on the plants. Under the section Field Mechanics, the tasks include welding and repair of steel structures, heavy assembly of drive equipment (electric motors, gearboxes, etc.), bearing assembly.

The work includes reporting and registration of maintenance work performed in the maintenance system, IFS.

In accordance with SSAB's management philosophy, you contribute to the continuous safety and improvement work. This together with your work group and other partners.

The position is full-time and the working hours are daytime. For those who want, there is also the possibility to replace shift mechanics in the event of shorter absences.

Your main responsibilities

• Provide competent and efficient maintenance services.
• Remedial mechanical maintenance on the facilities.
• Welding and repairs of steel structures, heavy assembly of drive equipment.

About you

• You have at least an upper secondary education with a workshop / mechanic focus and experience of maintenance work. If you also have experience of welding, we see it as an advantage.
• B driving license is a requirement.
• Fluent Swedish in both speech and writing is a requirement.
• You need to be able to solve problems and make your own decisions.
• You understand the importance of the work group's collective effort to achieve set goals.
• You have good social skills as the work involves contact with customers and partners.
• You are driven and curious to learn new things.
• You put the safety of both you and your coworkers first.
