About the position

SSAB offers you a flexible role where you are given the chance to take a step into a global steel company and be part of the development of fossil-free steel. In your role as a mechanic on shift maintenance, you will perform plant-related work in the form of remedial UH work in plant maintenance and technology, which means restoring the plant to production status.

The sheet metal area includes everything from rolling, hardening and tempering to formatting, painting and loading. We also have many cranes and a number of other facilities, so the area is large and varied, but we always work together to solve our tasks.

The work also includes systematic work with continuous improvements. A good contact with the operating organization is a prerequisite for us to succeed in our mission.

The working hours are continuously 3 shifts, ie morning, afternoon and night followed by a leave of 4-5 days.

Your main responsibilities

• Working together with your colleagues and solving acute faults and deficiencies at our facilities.
• The task of the group is to troubleshoot and carry out emergency repairs to keep operations running.

About you

• You always put safety first both for you and your colleagues.
• High school diploma in mechanics or equivalent vocational training.
• Good technical knowledge and ability to perform maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner.
• Service-oriented, easy to collaborate with other professionals and seek help when needed.
• Flexible and accurate and realizes the importance of the team's collective effort.
• Stress-resistant as the workload varies greatly between shifts and sometimes we have several facilities that need our help at the same time.
• Good knowledge of the IFS8 maintenance system is an advantage.
• B driving license is a requirement.
