As a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible, together with other design engineers, for the mechanical design and function of machines and facilities within Metallurgy/Design.

This role gives you the opportunity to work closely with the business and follow projects from concept and design through to a completed and operational solution. The work is primarily carried out within two streams: investment projects and work orders.

You will be part of a team of 25 design engineers and report to the Department Manager for Metallurgy Engineering. The position is based in Oxelösund.

Your main responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design
• Conduct technical calculations
• Conduct risk assessments
• Order internal and external services and materials
• Preparing cost estimates
• Reviewing drawing documentation
• Archiving drawings and technical documentation
• Developing work processes and contributing to continuous improvement
• Providing technical support to operations and maintenance
• Contributing to the development of our facilities

Other duties may arise based on the needs of the business.

About You

We are looking for someone with a master’s degree in engineering or a bachelor’s degree in engineering in mechanical design, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

It is highly desirable if you have:

• Experience in mechanical design within civil engineering
• Expertise in hydraulics
• Experience in industry, production, or technical projects

This position requires a strong command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are self-motivated and enjoy working closely with the business to gather the information you need. You handle complex problems in a structured and solution-oriented manner.

You plan and organize your work realistically, take initiative, and have the ability to make your own decisions. At the same time, you collaborate well with others, have an open and sincere approach, and are happy to help colleagues when needed.
