SSAB - Planner/Technician - Transportation
Luleå, Sverige
Type of Employment Full-time
Job position Transport planner
Work model On location
Application due date 9 February 2026
Are you the one?

Do you want to work closely with the business and have a central role in developing and future-proofing transport solutions in industry? At the Transport section at SSAB Luleå, we are now looking for a planner/technician who wants to contribute to safe and cost-effective transport in an operation with high demands on safety, quality, structure and cooperation.

In this role, you combine operational planning with technical development work and become an important part of the work with continuous improvements and future transport solutions, not least linked to our new steel plant.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and are committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

In the role of planner/technician, you support the Transport section's planning and development work to ensure safe and cost-effective transport to both internal customers within SSAB Luleå and external customers. The role is central to creating a structure for continuous improvements and to ensure future transport solutions, not least linked to our new steelworks.

You work to improve customer dialogue and clarify our service commitments, such as when, where and how orders for transport should be made. The work contributes to increased planning in the business and to better utilization of transport resources, improved transport flows and thus higher quality and lower costs.

The role includes both planning of transport assignments towards the production units at the site in Luleå, personnel planning for Transport and an active responsibility for development work linked to a safe and efficient transport operation in close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.

You are also part of the management team for the Transport section.

Your main responsibilities

  • Drive and support in technical issues and solutions related to our assignments, machines and accessories.
  • Improve and develop the planning of our positions, jobs and resources.
  • Drive and participate in both minor and major improvement works and improvement projects.
  • Together with managers of the section, develop interfaces with internal customers and external partners with the aim of reducing costs for purchased transport services.

About you

  • You are a driven person with a genuine interest in machines and technical solutions.
  • You have the ability to handle several ongoing tasks at the same time and maintain structure and focus even when conditions change rapidly.
  • You work in a structured way and have a good aptitude for planning.
  • You have good computer skills and are comfortable with the Office package and meritorious if you have worked in IFS (or similar systems).
  • If you have previous experience of safety work, this is an advantage.
  • If you have previous experience of working in an industrial environment, preferably in production planning or similar, this is also an advantage.
  • You speak and write Swedish and English fluently.
